1 Dyson V8 Animal won't turn on with the motorized brush heads attached.
My Dyson won’t power on at all when I have either motorized brush heads attached. Did all that troubleshooting stuff, cleaned things out, checked for blockages, etc.
Works just fine with the other non-powered attachments, but if I attach the motorized brush heads it won’t even power on. This is true if I have the attachments on the end of the stick tube, or directly on the hand set.
When I press the trigger, the battery light shows two steady blue lights (I’m assuming it had to do with the amount of charge left on the battery.), then the lights turn off one at a time, until they’re both off.
Anybody know what this means? And what, if anything, needs replacing?

Get a multimeter and check if the motor for the attachment is is shorted. It sounds like something is wrong with the motor and this is causing a massive power drain on your battery. After both lights are off, if you remove the attachment does it power on then?

Yes, it powers on just fine as long as the motorized brush heads are not attached.

Found out the contacts on the long tube were corroded.
