Power button not working after screen replacement

I replaced the screen on my Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom and when I went to power it on after reassembling everything, the power button does absolutely nothing. I did the same with a second, identical phone and I’m having the same issue.

Edit: The volume buttons are working fine as I’m able to get the phone into recovery mode, but am unable to select any of the options when presented as the power button does not work.
