Why does my laptop not power on without being plugged in?

I bought and installed a replacement battery from iFixit. My laptop worked as normal for several days. When I traveled to a different country on vacation, I arrived at my hotel only to find my laptop would not turn on without being plugged in into the charger. I am home now, and still unable to use the laptop without having to be tethered to the charger, defeating the purpose of buying a new battery.

I am having the same problem with my replacement iFixIt battery for my Razer Blade Stealth laptop. Have you found a solution?

So I ended up having to do an RMA with Razer. They replaced the battery, which now works fine, but they kept the one that I bought so I couldn't even get a refund. I had 2 iFixit batteries so there's something about Razer where it doesn't quite work correctly, but don't send your laptop with the replaced battery to Razer.

Hi,

Does the laptop show that the battery is charging when the the charger is plugged in?

Create a Win 10 battery report and compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value to check the status of the battery. With a new good battery they should be very close in value

You may have got a faulty battery.

Yes, I updated the question. The values on the report areDESIGN CAPACITY - 55,440 mWh, FULL CHARGE CAPACITY - 57,138 mWh.

Was the power supply in the different country a different voltage than where you are and require that you needed an adapter of some sort to connect the charger to it?

No, I was in Aruba and the outlets were the same as the US, and the problem persisted back in the US. I've taken it and the charger used to a repair chain near me and there was no problem with the charger, and no identifiable issues with the motherboard, charger, or connections. At this point it appears that the replacement battery may have been faulty.

Since you got the battery from Ifixit, contact them about the problem and get a replacement.

They give a 1 year warranty on the batteries that they supply.
