Can't turn on after changing battery

I recently changed a new battery for the macbook, and after follow the instruction : deplete all the leftover power and then charge it to full, it can’t turn on. while when I use the remaining power in the new battery it can work. After I used up all the power and then charge it over night, it won’t turn on anymore.

What is the color of the MagSafe LED? Amber, Green or not lit at all.
