The 5th generation BMW 3 Series is based on the E9X platform. The car pictured is a E90 chassis. The E9X chassis was used from 2004-2013 when the F1X chassis was released. When talking about a non-specific chassis, this generation is typically referred to as the E9X chassis since there are multiple chassis for this generation of 3 series, depending on the body style (E90/E91/E92/E93).

Camshaft position codes P0012 and P0015

I replaced both camshaft position solenoids on my 328i. The oil level is good, with clean oil. The P0012 and P0015 codes did not clear and car will not start. There are two pending trouble codes P0010 and P0013. Where do I go from here?

Make sure all your new parts are OEM. Make sure your oil viscosity is as called out in your owners manual. The variable valve timing components won't work properly if you change the viscosity. Clean the eccentric shaft plug under the vanity cover. Clean or replace the pre catalytic converter o2 sensors. Drain your oil and verify you don't have sludge build up in your pan. If you do your going to have to flush it out. Make sure to fill your oil precisely. Verify the solenoid screens are not clogged. The pending p0010 code is either a wiring fault between the DME (Engine Control module) and the solenoid. Or worn timing components between the crank and camshaft (worst case). You really need to a professional engine analyzer to monitor the signals coming from the DME and use a voltage analyzer to verify all the voltages are within range to verify if you have a bad DME or need to reload the software which would have to be done at a dealership. Sludge buildup is the most common culprit. Check. All those items first. If that doesn't solve your problem you will be smart to take it in to the dealership.

Yes. If you've checked everything else. How many miles are on the car. If you are around 150,000 and the car has been run hard. Timing component wear would slightly retard the timing. There are several online blogs that you can check their forums for additional troubleshooting to isolate the problem.
