iPhone 6 Error 4013 Even After Motherboard Replacement

Block Image

A little backstory: First of all I'm pretty amateur in mobile repair, i got this two iPhones 6 for free from close friends, and i was looking to repair them because at that moment I didn't have a Phone First one from what I know fell into mud and stopped working, and the second one just died out of nowhere from what I was told

Phones didn't do anything, but when connected they turn on and show the red empty battery, then they show the apple logo and in the end the screen turns black and the backlight stays on

I thought the surefire way to get them to work was to replace the Motherboard so I bought two replacement and they quickly arrived! I replaced them...and nothing...same problem as before

Later I bought two Charging port replacement and also changed them...and also nothing changed

Recently I discovered i can connect them to iTunes (only using my USB Hub, if i connect them directly they won't even turn on) And tried to restore them and upgrade the software

I got my hopes up when iTunes detected it, but in the end it just gave me Error Code 4013

I read that the error is caused by a faulty motherboard NAND but i don't understand because I already replaced it

So I pretty much have absolutely no idea on what do do now, any help would be appreciated!!

Hi Carl,

I am a little confused here, first, you talk about fixing the phones, and in the end, you basically end up buying completely new phones. I am not sure where you got the motherboards from but China sells iPhone 6 16gb unlocked no touchID mobo for 45e + 5e shipping, with touchID it’s 51e + 5e shipping. Where I am from you can buy a second-hand iPhone 6 for 60e. If you sold the 2 broken ones and saved on buying motherboards you could get an iphone 7 or possibly even 8.

To your original issue where the phones showed the apple logo and then stayed black with the backlight on, it’s very likely all they needed was a restore. Lately I’ve noticed a good few phones doing the very same thing. If you connect the phone to iTunes while the backlight is on and the screen is black it should come up as “iPhone needs to be restored“ message. After restore it should work just fine

To the replacement motherboards you bought, if it shows error 4013 ask for refund. I’ve bought one or two for a youtube video I was doing to see how much it costs to build your own iphone and it should be working from the moment you get it. With that said if you can’t get a refund, 4013 could be caused by faulty nand or plenty of other issues like a bad cable.
