No touch screen after replacing the screen assembly, what's wrong?

Got the touch screen not working after replacing the screen assembly, here is what happened:

# Opened the screen cover easily, no problem.

  1. Try to remove the battery cable, but unfortunately disconnect the second port cable next to the battery port (I thought I did disconnect the battery cable, but I actually disconnect the wrong one, so, the battery cable is still connected with the logic board).
  2. Removed the old LCD type screen assembly, and replaced it with the OLED type one.
  3. Turn it on, everything works except the touch screen not functioning.
  4. Try to reset the phone, no luck.
  5. Try to enter into the recovery mode and do phone reset through Itunes, after finished, still no touch screen.
  6. Try to put the old LCD screen assembly back, but still no touch screen (it used to be working fine before this replacement).

#

  1. At this stage, I’m not sure if the logic board was damaged and causing the touch screen no longer working.
  2. Any comments? What should I do further?
  3. Many thanks!

Seeing as the old screen had touch before replacement I’m wondering if by not disconnecting the battery caused a short somewhere. I know in the case of some phones like the 6S you can blow the back light circuit if you don’t disconnect the battery and accidentally short a couple lines when you connect the new screen resulting in no image. If you can, get a local shop to look at it if they have a screen in stock just to narrow out the potential for a bad screen. The old one could’ve been damaged upon removal. But also make sure the connections are firm. I know in the case of the X, I sometimes don’t properly connect the touch connector resulting in no touch response. Inspect the connectors for any damage such as bent or missing pins along with tears in the flex cables.

Thanks for your comments. By the way, do you know which connector is for touch screen feature there?

@hru1207 I'm not sure but you can easily figure it out by process of elimination. Connect one connector and power on the phone. If you don't get an image, you've found the display connector.
