Why does my freezer work for a couple months then stop then start work
My refrigerator works but the freezer will work for a couple of months then stop working then start working again

What is the make and model number of the refrigerator?
When you say the freezer stops working, what actually happens? Is it too warm and if so what is the temperature in the freezer at the time and also the refrigerator?
Usually if there are freezer problems then there are refrigerator problems also unless the unit has two evaporator units, one for each compartment
