Yamaha PSR E223 All piano keys are not working

I haven’t played for around 10 days, yesterday I opened the piano but the piano keys are not responding. There’s power, sound, LCD and I can even play the demo songs and style tracks, but all piano keys are not responding.

I checked youtube about using pencil on contact pads but to no avail. Any idea on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @yonder2020,

Here’s the service manual for the keyboard. Be patient as to takes a little while to go from processing to download after you have passed the security check and clicked on Go to Download, below the document preview box.

The schematic on the last page of the manual should help to find the problem.

Since all the keys aren’t working you need to check that the +3.3D voltage supply that is supplied to all the keys via the resistor stack is OK and that the connector CN501 is plugged in securely as this is the connector that connects all the keys to the mainboard.

Here’s a composite image taken from the schematic showing the main points to look at i.e. the +3.3V regulator supplied by the +5V, the CN501 connector and the +3.3D connection to the resistors.

Hopefully this is of some help.
