1 Grinding Noise - Non-operable
My FZ1000 makes a grinding noise when I turn it on. It doesn’t do anything besides that annoying noise, as if it’s locked up.

This sounds like the problem I had which I was able to repair.
In my case the problem was that the screws securing the zoom motor loosened, allowing the worm gear to skip while turning.
Solution was to tighten those 2 screws INSIDE the zoom motor assembly.
Step 22 of the disassembly guide shows removal of the zoom motor assembly. If you can feel play between the motor and the zoom motor assembly case, it's the same problem.
The zoom motor assembly case must be opened to reach these two screws.
