The camera isight (still good) but got disconected

Hello,

The other day I crash on my bike, and I was carrying my MacBook in my backpack. So after the crash the computer still works and also the camera, but somehow got disconected. After that I open my MacBook to try to see if I found the cable and I did soemthing and work again, but now is disconected and I tried again to open and check but as I dont know where the camera gets conected I havent been able to make it work.

I think that the problem is in the conection in the keyboard part and not in the screen part, but If you know which part has to get connected can you send me an email with the picture? or better to upload a manual?

I know that the camera is just a detail, but I knid of need it.

Thanks a lot and your website is great!

When you have your computer keyboard top off you will see the orange cable coming from the optical drive. If you disconnect it from the motherboard you will see the video cable under it. ( has a shield around it ) The iSight camera is connected to the motherboard through that cable. To get to the other end you have to take apart the entire screen to get to the ribbon cable that plugs into the actual camera.

This step 15 show the orange cable to disconnect.

This step 16 shows the video connector that the iSight is connected through

This is a very hard question to tackle because you have not described in detail what you've done and seen. You say the camera got disconnected...does this simply mean it was not working, or have you actually seen that the camera or some component of the camera is physically disconnected? Also, you say "I did something", but what exactly did you do? You state that you think the problem is in "the keyboard part", but what makes you suspect this? I need to know what you've done and what you've seen...otherwise this is an impossible question to answer. Thanks

ok, I'm sorry :S. I will try again:

The camera on my MacBook doesn't work. I open iphoto, but the camera is not recognize, and also dont appear in any software that uses camera, like skype.

I open the MacBook, to see if i could find the problem and also to clean it. I disconect a lot of cables and conect them back, and after closing everything the camera start working again.

But after a while the camera stop working and any software recognize it.

I open again my laptop, disconect everything and conected again, but now i was not as lucky as before. The camera does't work anymore.

That's why i think that is a cable or a coenction the problem. Never happen before the crash.

The interior of the laptop looks fine, i don't see any cable that looks wrong, and i dont know what to do.

Thanks by your response.

cheers

Natalia
