MacBook Pro Won't Install Any Update or Restore

I was performing an update on my mid-2007 15” MBP, from OSX 10.7.5 to 10.11 “El Capitan”. While I was doing the update the installer couldn’t complete the install and left the mac unable to boot properly (I can log into my account then the mac shows the “white screen of death”).

I’ve tried creating a usb bootable drive to no result since it doesn’t show up on the “Startup disk” menu. I have used both 10.11.6 and 10.11.0 installers and a thumb drive formatted with GUID partitions.

I also tried restoring via the original OSX 10.4 DVDs, while the mac properly reads the discs the screen shows white and blue lines throughout the screen making the installer unusable.

I don’t have a Time Machine backup since I backed up all the important data on another drive.

What should I do? At this point I only want this Mac to boot up. I don’t care about losing the documents on the hard drive.

P.S: The battery from the Mac was removed years ago.
