This is straight from the ASUS web site:

“During the BIOS update process, please follow the instructions shown on the laptop's screen to successfully complete the BIOS update.  It is important to let the system successfully complete the BIOS update before shutting down.

Manually shutting down the computer while the BIOS is updating will cause the computer failing to power on or will boot to a black screen. If your laptop powers on (power LED indicator is on) and boots to a black screen after the BIOS update, please try the steps below to see if the issue can be resolved:

1. Please force a shut down by long pressing the power button until the LED indicator goes off and then unplug the AC adapter.

2. Re-plug the AC adapter in and press the power button again to resume the BIOS update.  Do not unplug the AC Adapter or interrupt the process until the BIOS update is completed.  Once completed, the system should be back to normal usage.

3. Please enter the BIOS utility and load the BIOS default settings (F9) before saving and exiting (F10).”

Anticipating the question, they don’t say if the battery should be removed or not while following the above procedure. I don’t know. Either ask ASUS yourself or try both with and without battery.

Here’s the url:

https://www.asus.com/nz/support/FAQ/1040...

This url takes you to a YouTube video on “ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 - disassembly and upgrade options”. Simple - just unplug the battery. You’ll also see how to upgrade your HDD to a SSD. The CMOS/BIOS coin battery is just below the hard drive compartment. It wouldn’t hurt to also take this out before discharing with the power button. (I know you already did some of this but others may find it helpful.)

Note error on video:

The battery should have been disconnected FIRST! and power discharged by pressing power button.

If not sure of anything please don’t hesitate to ask. Let us know how it goes.

Repeating some of these recovery tricks may be helpful because sometimes not everything is fixed the first time around.

@Jebastin Gaming

So you shut the power off while the BIOS was updating? Is that correct?

So the above didn't help? No fans just the power light and the keyboard?

You may have to send it to ASUS for repair or replace the motherboard.
