@therealstarr16 connect an external monitor. If that shows up okay etc. you know that it is your LCD screen that has failed. Let us know what you find out.

Yes, I've tried doing that for a couple of years now, the screen works, it just rarely turns on, I just want to know why it does this.

@therealstarr16 most likely a power issue related to a bad cable. (unlikely yet possible would be a bad component on the motherboard) Of course you can always take a look around the area where the screen plugs is. Then trace the wiring etc.

You also want to check the HDD to see if that works. I seem to recall that this model will not boot to anything with a bad HDD

Toshiba is an extremely paranoid company that does not want the You and I of this world to fix their devices. Service manuals, diagrams and schematics are not available not can you expect any help from those people.

@oldturkey03 Hopefully the Dynabook deal fixes the service info issue, but it's too little too late for me. The poor build quality after 2011 put the nail in the coffin for me for good, even if they improve the serviceability issues.

Even if I can keep changing the charge port doesn't mean a more serviceable design makes up for the DMCA takedown years ago. If I need to change it because a end user pulled too hard AND check for chassis damage because a 1/2 pound over what they expected broke the computer, that's an issue.

The family L755 was held together with threats from the "IT Department" and hot glue on the power jack.
