Presumably you mean WARNING BATT?

The message may indicate that the batteries aren’t charged enough which may happen with new replacement rechargeable batteries. The replacement batteries may need time to be sufficiently charged as they can lose some charge if they’ve been on the shelf in the store for a while.

Things to check:

That the phone is off before replacing the batteries

That the battery compartment cover is closed before switching on the phone again after inserting the batteries correctly.

That you allow at least 8+ hours for the 4 x 300mAH NiMH batteries to be fully charged the first time that they’re inserted. The user manual says allow 12 hours but most rechargeable batteries have some charge left in them when first bought so they’re not being charged from being totally discharged. I guess that the phone manufacturer may just be playing it safe in this regard as they should be fully charged within 12 hours
