Tray in a Bluray player locks and refuses to open? (It's not the belt)

This Philips Bluray player started refusing to open its tray, so I opened it: it was the usual rubber belt issue described in many fix-it guides, so upon boiling the rubber piece, etc., etc., the player worked again.

(The issue was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcVn9NUt... )

But now, a while later, it stopped... and it refuses to go. The rubber belt is OK, but when the tray is closed and moves back, it locks itself in place and refuses to open.

As near as I can tell, it appears as if the closing tray moves too high at the end of its "return", if that makes any sense, and somehow gets blocked.

If I press it down, move the white plastic slider in its front, or operate the white plastic cog wheel underneath the tray to move it, it will start ejecting.

I don't know if this description makes much sense; I filmed the tray in the opened player, and what I do to open it once it "locks" upon being moved to the closed position. (I close it, it locks and can't be pulled out open again; I push the mechanism down, or move the white plastic slider - and it unlocks.)

Can someone recognize anything familiar here? Any possibility of fixing this?
