Diagnostics Freezes, battery is dead and shuts off on high loads.
My early 2015 13” Retina MacBook Pro is unable to turn on without a power adapter.
When I click the battery icon it says service recommended, however when I went to the Apple store and they tried to run diagnostics, my Mac would freeze.
Even when I try to run diagnostics at home my Mac freezes almost immediately (they concluded there is a faulty logic board, however they did not even look inside).
The mac seems to be working fine in Mac OS except when it is given a high load, it will shut off. After further testing with GeekBench, I have come to the idea that the GPU is bad as it is able to go through the GeekBench CPU test with no struggles, however a few seconds after I start the GPU test it shuts off.
Similarly it shuts off when I run the Unigine Heaven GPU benchmark. The battery worked fine a few weeks ago, I just want to confirm that this is indeed a logic board issue as diagnostics was working fine when I had the battery issue a week before my Apple appointment. Thanks for the help
