Ipad 4 Restore failure

I have ipad 4 which was working perfectly well until about 3-4 years ago when I opted to do the Apple recommended software update. And for some reason it failed and I got the connect to iTunes Screen. I tried several times to restore it via iTunes and it goes through the motions of software and firmware update but at the end of it all, it gives message that iPad can not be restored. The last few lines in the update log File are as listed at the end.

I now have iPad Pro but I would like to get my iPad 4 working again. The Apple shop have been their usual total waste of time self as all they are interested in is selling me a replacement iPad 4... so all I got from them is the usual salesman BS.

I have already tried all the Apple recommended procedures. i will be grateful for any tips on what the problem may be and how to fix it.

many thanks.

@al_2015 … with my experience, when itunes wont restore via update, the traditional way. one can put the device in dfu mode and factory reset the device with success. this is not a restore. it will erase everything on the device, clear any faults and reinitialize the device with the latest software available. This usually clears all software related issues and functionality. the only time this has failed for me is when there is hardware failure that needs to be addressed.

this is the first step that apple and many techs utilize as it is the fastest way to determine software vs hardware issues. here is a link for some insight:

Thank you so much… I tried this DFU and I’m afraid it failed again with similar error message to what I listed earlier. So as you say, there must be a hardware issue. The log file is saying firmware restore failed. Is there any way of determining from the log file which hardware component is failing?

What does this mean?

Code:52 Error:Failed creating a communication transport to baseband.

@al_2015 ... error code 52 is typically an issue with onboard ram. i believe your nand is corrupt and preventing the chip from being overwritten and/or communicating with the software from itunes.
