Preguntas 197 Ver todo

Doesnt see the hard drive, freezes at Apple logo and locks up

Specs: Powermac G5 2.7ghz, 5Gb ram, 256MB video card, 2Tb & 1TB hard drive

I did a clean leopard install on 2TB and when I restart it doesnt see the hard drive. Also had the same problem with the 1TB hard drive.

When it does comes on, stuck on the apple logo then the fans speeds up.

Next day it will boot up and everything will work for a hours or so then it freezes.

I unplug the internal HD then boot with the external HD. Does the same thing as above.

Disconnect both hard drives and turn it on. The fold with the question mark

Then I ran a hardware test and it passed

Also did the swaps of the ram and hard drive, etc didnt work

I'm going to try to swap the hard drive cable but I dont think it will fix the problem

Thoughts?

Also is the logic board or CPU failing?

Has anyone taken an 2.7ghz and put in a 2.0 dual machine?

Contesta esta pregunta Yo también tengo este problema

Es esta una buena pregunta?

Is all your hardware matched? The fact that your system can run for a bit but then freezes makes me think RAM. I've heard of cases where mis-matched RAM can cause problems, and it sounds like you have at least one RAM chip that is different from its brethren. Did you use matched RAM chips when trying different hardware? Also, your RAM is compatible with the logic board/processor (DDR2 vs DDR3) yes?
