my device is actually the 8470p but there isnt a tab for that on here (at least i couldnt find it) the charging cable randomly stopped working but other chargers do work. how can i fix my cable?

With the charger plugged in go slowly along the cable bending it to see at what point the charging light goes out.
That is where the break is.
If you are able solder you will know what to do. Often these breaks are right at the power “brick” or at the connector and are very hard to repair.
Just buy a new charger because if the repair is done incorrectly you could damage the battery or worse the laptop.
