Ice maker makes ice, but at least once a day dumps water into refrig

Whirlpool French Door model number WRF989SDAE01 Purchased in August of 2013.

The ice maker makes ice and dumps in the container everyday, but at least once a day when opening the Refrigerator doors you see water all over the front of , and inside of, the ice container door and refrigerator glass shelves. The ice maker is located in the upper left hand side of the refrigerator and the ice receptacle is located on the inside of the left refrigerator door. I have view many of the you tube “ice maker fix it” videos, but none that I have found discuss my problem.

Please let me know if you have had this type of issue and what was done to correct it.
