This is manufacturers by Frigidaire for Sears. Look for any frost on the rear wall in the freezer. Listen for a fan to come on inside when you shut the door. When the compressor is running the condenser fan , located by the compressor, and the evaporator fan, located behind rear panel in freezer, should be running too. The evap fan blows cold air up to (ff) fresh food section. If fan fails, the ff section gets warm. If fan is working, check the defrost compensates located behind the rear panel inside the freezer.

UNPLUG the refrigerator, remove freezer door, drawers and rear panel. Take a pic of the evaporator coil. If you see a lot of frost and ice, that’s the problem. The fan can’t pull air through the coils if it’s covered in ice.

DONT DEFROST IT WITH A BLOW DRYER. the liner is thin and melts fast. A damaged liner is very bad, and almost always impossible to repair.

Defrost the unit by leaving the doors open for 2 days with several towels along the floor Incase water drips out. We don’t need anyone slipping and getting hurt.

Once it’s completely thawed, you can test the ohms of each componate to find the one that failed.

The frost pattern of the evaporator coils can tell you a lot about the sealed system to help with troubleshooting. You should have an even frost pattern. If you don’t, post it for us to see.
