Why is my PC randomly turning off?

About a week ago my PC randomly started turning off. I would be doing something on it like gaming and the screen goes black. When the screen goes black, the PC will still be on (the rgb is still working, and fans are running), Then after a few more minutes it will turn off. To turn the Pc back i have to disconnect the power cord, wait then press the power button and everything works fine. The PC and monitor are about 3 years old Im not exaclty sure what the problem is. here are my specs:

the Pc is 870-224 omen hp

-1060 3gig

-motherboard is odense2-k

-intel i5 -7400

the power supply is a 500 watt atx e6 with the part number being, 860625-801

-1 ddr4-2133 ram sticks, and about a year ago i installed another ram stick

my monitor part number is U2518D

Update (06/23/2020)

I replaced my PSU. Everything works now

Hi @donalduckus ,

Check in Event Viewer (if Win 10, right click Windows Start button, left side of Taskbar and select link) for any Critical, Error or Warning events that are shown for the time of the problem happening.

Click (double click?) on the event to get more information.

Go online and search for "(insert Event ID Number and Source name)" of the event to find out what is means and the possible cause.

Have you checked that the CPU fan and the case fan (if applicable)are clean and working OK?

Have you checked that the video drivers are up to date?

Does this only occur when gaming or in general use as well?

@jayeff

I will go check the event viewer. My cpu fans are dusty and will be cleaned. My gpu drivers are up to date. My pc turns in general use along with gaming

To add, check the +12V and +5V values in the BIOS. Could be the PSU..

i will try to check those values

Thanks! Please let us know the outcome :).
