iPod Classic 7th Gen has ink inside of screen. Possible to clean?

I have a somewhat unique problem with my iPod Classic 7th Gen that was caused by my own carelessness.

For a long time I stored it in my desk drawer, where I unfortunately ALSO stored a bottle of fountain pen ink with a loose cap. It spilled on my iPod Classic and now there’s purple ink inside of the screen! I believe this ink is water soluble. This is a long shot, but would it perhaps be possible to clean it somewhat without opening this notoriously difficult to open device? Any ideas would be much appreciated!
