Press home to upgrade, but my home button is not working.

Hi guys.

This is my situation. First, I fix LCD screen on my self.

while doing repair, I unfortunately tear the home button(Touch ID) cable.

My LCD is perfectly repaired but home button is not working. so I was using assist touch instead of home button. (it was fine)

But After make IOS updates,

Press home to update make me crazy.

assist touch is not appeared.

I already connect to my Mac with cable, but didn’t recognize it.

and I already connect with to pc iTunes but didn’t recognize, too.

Are there any other way to skip the ‘press’ the home button or fix it?

Plz somebody help me…

i have a solution. when iTunes finish updating your software, it will prompt you to keep the phone plugged with USB, but you have to unplugg it and turn your iphone on again and than connect it to itunes and manage as a new iPhone.

You should be able to replace the button although you’ll lost touchID. You also might be able to send it to a microsoldering specialist that can fix the original home button.

There is a way to unlock an iDevice running iOS that has a broken home button and no access to Assistive Touch. Try the following:

  1. On your Lock Screen, swipe right.
  2. You should see the Search field at the top.
  3. Type Settings in the Search field.
  4. Your 'top hit' should be the Settings app. Tap on this.
  5. You should now get the Touch ID or Enter Passcode screen.
  6. Enter your passcode.
  7. You should now see your settings.
  8. Go to General -> Accessibility -> Assistive Touch and turn it on.
  9. Also, while your still in the Accessibility settings, scroll to and tap the Home Button setting
  10. Change the Click Speed and/or Rest Finger to Open settings to see if that also helps.

Good luck!
