Power shortage to my door speaker amp

I have a door speaker amplifier and a subwoofer amp in my truck. It sounds great until i turn the volume up to a certain point, then my highs kick out for a second or two when a big bass burst hits. I thought my battery was weak at first so i bought a brand new optima red top battery and installed it. It did not stop the problem. I think there is a power shortage problem though because when i turn my bass boost knob down on my sub amp it stops cutting out leading me to believe that my sub amp is stealing power from my door speaker amp. Should i run a separate power wire directly from my battery?
