Changed front panel, battery indicator changes & turnes off randomly
I changed the front panel unit of my ipad air. When I turn it on now, the ipad turnes off automatically after a few minutes. Also, the battery indicator changes between 1% and 100%.
The repair worked well except for step 41 when I reattached the new front panel. I had the same problem as other commentators discribed: The cables of the new panel seam longer than the ones of the old one and “this side of the digitizer keep popping out.“, as @camerd33 discribed it as well. I don’t think this is what causes the problem with the batterie, though.
In step 35 I put two playing cards in between the battery and the logic board. May that have damaged the connection?
I did not reopen the ipad yet as I was hoping someone could give me a hint on what to look for specifically, once I do reopen it.
This is the link to the manual I used: https://de.ifixit.com/Anleitung/iPad+Air...
Update (24.04.2020)
As @hootonberg suspected I might have nocked out a component, I looked into my tools again and found this little square thingy of which I attach two pics. Might that be something that is now missing in the Ipad? Sorry for coming back to that question only now again.
Es esta una buena pregunta?

Oh, maybe its relevant that I used a fan to heat the sides of the ipad instead of the iOpener. I tried not to heat anything but the sides (not more than the white part) and not to heat it too long or too hot - but who knows. Also, the suction cup did not work at all for me. So I had to use some force to get under under the glas. Maybe I distroyed sth during that process?
