John Deere died while mowing

I have a John Deere L118 riding lawn mower. I was mowing, blades were engaged and started to reverse when it died. Now won’t crank. No sound, nothing when I turn key. Thought it might be too low on gas, so added more gas. Still nothing. I disengaged the blade switch. Had no problems with mowing or reverse previously. Please help.
