What screws do I need for the SSD?

Hi, everyone. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 2016 with no hard drive. I found that it’s very easy to find an SSD for this MacBook but I can’t find the screws that hold it in place. Does anyone know what size they are or of any place that sells them?

I would go without screws for the interim since it’ll probably be fine, but use a good aluminum tape to keep the SSD down to avoid problems - don’t bump it if you can help it since the SSD WILL be loose. What I would do is see if you can buy an SSD with the required screws, as some sellers will include them for not much more knowing about buyers like you buying one without the screws or other integral parts, so they sell the screws and SSD as a pair. Most don’t, so you’ll need to buy them piecemeal AND an SSD or buy it as a pair.

Your best bet otherwise is to buy a complete screw set from a used machine someone is stripping for parts. If you are missing no other screws, you could probably ask a Mac repair shop if they have any and offer then a few bucks to get what you need. Chances are they’ll probably have a dead machine to get them from that’s a match.

Thanks for your answer Nick. It seems to hold pretty well without the crews but I'm looking to get the top case replaced by apple as the space bar is pretty stiff and as far as I'm aware it needs all apple parts (including the screws?).

Unfortunately there is not many Mac repair shops here in Poland (in my area anyway) but I will message some eBay sellers to ask if they can sell me the screws. Although I'm not entirely sure if apple will check every screw for a match with the laptop as I could probably find some at a hardware store that fit but they are all silver and not black like apple's.

@konam005 The internal screws should be the same across the board but match the color. The externals and SSD capacity MUST MATCH if you take it to Apple. They may ask - DENY EVERYTHING! Don't be mean, but plead the 5th.

Get a digital caliper and see if you can find the hole size in mm, so you have a starting point. You want to use the end where the points go into the hole. It looks like you need the MLB/logic board screws.
