Why is my Polaroid Sun 600 not registering the film pack?

My Polaroid Sun 600 (and also my Polaroid OneStep) is not registering the film pack when it is inserted. The red/green light turns on on the back, but it does not make any noise to recognize the inserted pack after I close the door. If it isn’t obvious enough, the camera also does not even take pictures.
