Lately the keyboard instructs me to format the usb, but that does not help

Hi @ycs155159 ,

Have you tried a different known working USB stick or proved that the USB stick works OK in another device, you didn't say?

Hi @ycs155159 ,

Don’t know much about keyboards but here’s a link to the service manual.

On p.60 it details how to get into Test mode. Tests 57 and 88 on p.63 may be of interest.

Test 57 is a USB to Device/Host Check which may be useful as I think that it proves the USB controller, which is in the CPU, is reading correctly, which may be your problem, i.e. it can’t read the USB stick for some reason, faulty data lines perhaps so it says format the USB.

Have you visually checked the USB port in the keyboard to make sure that it is OK, no broken pins or debris lodged in the port enclosure preventing a good electrical connection? Use a strong light and an magnifying glass to make sure

Test 88 is a reset. Maybe something got glitched and a reset may resolve the problem.

Other than than you may have to use the schematics at the end of the manual to trace the wires from the USB port (connector CN72) back to the DM2E board (connector CN6) to make sure that the connectors are plugged in securely at both ends and that the wires are OK.
