Hi @cherndes

It appears as though the DC-In lack is loose on the systemboard.

The tablet will have to be opened and the jack inspected as to what the problem actually is.

If it is only loose then as it is a smd (surface mounted device) type component, you will need smd soldering skills and tools to do the repair.

Here’s a link to the ifixit RCA RCT6378W2 guides and also a video showing the dis-assembly of the tablet, both of which should be of some help in opening the tablet and removing the systemboard from the case so that the DC-In jack can either be resoldered back onto the systemboard or replaced if necessary.

If the DC-In jack is just loose and you find that doing the smd soldering work will be too daunting, take the systemboard only (handle gently), to a reputable, professional mobile phone repair service, electronics repair service or laptop repair service and ask for a quote to just fix the DC-In jack as they have the expertise and the tools to do this.

By you doing the dis-assembly of the tablet and then the re-assembly of the tablet after the repair, you should be able to reduce the cost of the repair work done by the professionals as the labour time is greatly reduced.

Of course they will only guarantee their work and nothing else if it fails to work correctly after you re-assemble it ;-)
