How to replace the headphone input in this laptop.

Hello! I am attempting to fix/replace my headphone input on this laptop. Recently someone ripped the Jack out of the headphone input and damaged the input to where sound only plays out of the left side now. (I tested with a different pair of headphones to ensure that the Jack hadn’t been damaged and this is not the case.) I took it apart and looked and everything seems to be intact and properly soldered still so I’m guessing I just have to replace the entire part. Is there a way to do this? I haven’t found any part that I can replace it with and most guides I look up are very sketchy. Thank you very much and I appreciate your time!!

mattvandergalien I am a bit confused by your question, but then I am old so I get easily confused. Are you inquiring about replacing the headphone jack? You also want to verify that your computer is indeed a NP740U3MK01US

Hey oldturkey I am looking to replace the headphone plug, maybe that’s called the Jack if so I’m just using the wrong term haha. I’m attempting to replace where you plug in headphones in the laptop.

yes that is the headphone jack. Samsung NP740U3MK01US the right model for your computer? Trying to at least find the jack. most likely places like digikey.com or mouser.com for a replacement but you would have to measure your existing jack to see if you can match it up.
