A1708 / EMC 3164: lanzado en junio de 2017, este MacBook Pro de nivel básico conserva sus teclas de función tradicionales (a diferencia de la barra táctil OLED).

Preguntas 562 Ver todo

LCD pillars, only when screen is more than ~30 degrees open.

After a drop onto carpet, I have LCD pillars, but, when the screen is less than halfway open– under about 30 degrees– the display is still perfect. No signs of a crack.

What should I evaluate? / Does this sound serviceable, without replacing the entire LCD? Thank you!

In the older 2015 retina models the T-CON board was inside the lid so when it got damaged you had to replace the entire display assembly (rarely got damaged)

In the newer 2016 onward systems Apple moved the T-CON board outside of the lid and its now inside the main body. Now it’s a bit more exposed as the black plastic clutch cover is all that protects it and the ribbon cables which lead to the display as you can see here.

In your case the LCD ribbon cables got compressed by the impact getting damaged (pink marked). Sadly, this will require a new display assembly: MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2016-2017) Display Assembly. And here’s the needed guide to do it: Ensamblaje de la pantalla de MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017
