If speed is the issue why don’t you just get a USB-C to VGA, HDMI or MiniDisplay port adapter so you can hook up an external monitor.

As far as getting a replacement display you need either a

MacBook Pro 13" Complete Display - Silver Apple P/N 661-07971

MacBook Pro 13" Complete Display - Space Grey P/N 661-07970

Do make sure you get the right display assembly
