How to go from olde OSXs to a APFS system like Mojave
I am asking for some guidance on how best go from an older OSX , for instance Maverick or Mountain Lion, which are often on my ebay purchased machines, to installing Mojave. I have a nice copy on Mojave on an external drive, but because its file system is APFS. It is tricky to get disc utility in an older OSX to reformat the drive in Recovery. The older OSXs did not even know about APFS. So I always have to install Sierra first, and then go to Mojave. Seem awkward...
