Can magnetized screwdriver damage earpiece speaker?
Some background information:
I replaced my iphone screen and since then the earpiece speaker doesn’t work. I used multiple flex cables and screens. I have another phone that had an earpiece working, then i moved it to the phone I’m trying to fix and it doesn’t work. Then I moved it back to the original phone and the earpiece doesn’t work! I’ve spend hours exchanging parts over and over and no matter what I do I can’t get the earpiece to work in either of the phones now.
I read online that kapton tape could be the issue. Which I may try next.
But here’s one thing I noticed. The earspeaker is a magnet. And it de-magnetized my screwdriver while I was using it. So I’m thinking if it can de-magnetize my screwdriver, is it possible that my screwdriver is ruining the speaker?
This is something that is kind of driving me crazy as I can’t figure out how with all these spare parts I have, I can’t get any of them to get sound out of the ear piece speaker on 2 different phones. The only thing I can think of is either this special polyimide /kapton tape or I’m somehow destroying these parts.
