Can you tell me what I broke? Can I repair it? I was trying to replace the battery which I have done before but totally forgot it opens with an angle and broke the cable off

One is the LCD cable and the other one is the home button. It doesn’t matter which one of them is broken you will have to replace your screen. There is no economical fix for this.

@Kelsey Dugas I have not tried an ifixit screen so I could not comment, but everything else I have purchased from them has been good.
