can you remove the pull handle from under the dash so you can pull on it a longer distance?

If the cable is stuck or broken you may need a mechanic to repair. If the cable is stretched a little and not opening it may need a light tap with help from a friend on the hood while you are pulling on the hood release to get it to open.
