Broken HD Temp sensor on Inerconnect board?

I have an early 2009 Mac Mini. I broke the temperature sensor off the interconnect board entirely a few years ago, meaning I have nothing to attach a sensor to at this point. I'm finally getting around to looking at a fix as I want to give it to a family member and the fan noise will be an issue without the repair.

Can I order just the interconnect board and the temp sensor or do I need the whole drive assembly? Also, what are the part numbers for each? If the combined cost is similar to the whole drive assembly I'll probably just go with the latter.

Mac Mini 3,1

Intel Core 2 Duo

Serial Number YM9252FL19X

The Interconnect board is Apple part# 922-7320 and the cable is 922-7319.

Do a Google search and you will find wildly different prices. If it were me I'd pay a bit more to go with a company with a good reputation.

Many thanks Mayer! This is exactly what I was looking for. This, coupled with the sensor cable should get my fans back under control, yes?

Hmm..On the link you provided, the part number shown for a 2009 Mac Mini is actually different than the interconnect board you gave me. (Apple 922-8807). I also did a quick search for that part # (922-7320) on Amazon and it reports it as a 2006 Mac Mini. The Apple 922-8807 part number does report as an Early 2009 Mini on Amazon though. I'm a bit hesitant now to order it unless I can verify the part number. Does the Mini's board actually show the part number anywhere on it?

Go to www.welovemac.com and look your machine up. The same part can be used on many machines over several years.

I think I'll go ahead and order the new part numbers I found, which I must thank you for in any case. Had you not provided the link I wouldn't have seen the 2009 Mini part numbers listed at the bottom of the page.

Many thanks ;)

Thanks for the accept, glad I could help get you there.

Mayker, the link to www.welovemac.com goes to a domain squatting company who have links to all sorts of possibly harmful stuff. The correct URL is www.welovemacs.com
