Why is my iPhone not turning on or charging?

I’ve had this phone for about two months now and it has been fine until today when it randomly turned off. It was at about 50% power when it shut down. I was in the gym listening to music on the Bose wireless earbuds when the phone went black. When i got home I tried charging it via apple cord and adaptor and also with my laptop which failed to recognize the iPhone was even connected. I tried the hardware reset with the volume buttons and the side button but this did nothing. Thoughts?
