Mac Mini Mid 2011 HDD Upgrade? power consumption vs 2010 Model

Hello!

I like to buy the new Mac Mini Mid 2011. Can I swap the Hard drive to any Model? I like to install a Samsung SpinPoint M8 1TB HD, SATA III (HN-M101MBB)

I have heard the last year Model has a special Sensor for the Hard drive, which only works I have take same brand as the stock HDD. Is that correct?

How is the power consumption?

Specialy Mac Mini 2010 vs Mac Mini Mid 2011

I loaded up our family's 2011 Mac Mini with 8GB of RAM, and replaced both drives (hybrid+SSD), then ran a game, 45 watts. Most I could burn would be 53 watts, briefly, seen in photos of a watt meter that I posted with the article:

“macZilla” Core i5 Mac mini: more RAM + hybrid drive + SSD drive = completely successful surgery for fast Windows 7 VM that dual boots too!
