Display Inverter and cable inverter. How to know wich part change?

Hello,

Thank you in advance!

Blacklight MB's display is not working. I read in Answers it's maybe the inverter or inverter cable. I wonder if there's a way to know if I have to change both parts or wich one.

Regrads and thank you another time!

PD: Sorry for my english! :)

Thank you very much for response quickly! :)

I can see desktop in the screen dimly. If i take a flashlight and pointed the screen, i can see. When i put the contrast lower and then up, sometimes I can see the screen good, but in a few minutes turns dark.

I change inverter board and the problem seems its solved, but not completly. Sometimes, if I move the screen or battery is low, the screen turns dark, but "playing" with contrast Problem solve easly, Is it normal? It's possible the problem was cable?

Thank you very much!

Albert

Solución Elegida

This problem is usually diagnosed if you can still see the desktop on the screen dimly. Is that your problem? If so here's how I do it: MacBook Core 2 Duo LCD & Inverter A1181 (fast method) Replacement

Without replacing the parts, there is no way to determine which part of the inverter to replace unless a visual examination shows the cable to be damaged or the inverter board burned.

Moving the screen flexes the cables. Did you also replace the inverter cable? If not examine its connectors and visually check it for damage. You can also use a multimeter to test it. Flex while testing to check for a break in the wire.

It may be the cable, the inverter board, or the LCD panel itself. Until you start to rule out each one there isn't really any way of knowing. Unless of course there is physical damage to the panel.

Once you take the LCD panel off remove the bezel, then remove the clutch cover, the cable is the black one on the left, and the inverter is in the middle. Try the cable first, and check all connections. If that doesn't work, try the board. If that doesn't work, then you know that you need a new panel.

Exactly - the bottom up approach. Start with the least expensive part. +

The cable you can check easily with a multimeter.
