How to clean Face ID dot projector?

I got a finger smudge on the dot projector and I’m extremely fearful of messing up the Face ID. Any suggestions as to how I should clean it?

I have only had to clean one. I used a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol never ran into any problems.
