Home button flex cable

Hey guys! So the home button flex cable on my iphone 6 has torn. (its the long flex that runs up the back of the metal shielding) So long story short i ordered a replacement in a hurry but i realise that i have accidentally ordered a replacement flex for Iphone 6 PLUS and not the normal iphone 6….. i am anticipating the cable to arrive and be too long…..but can anyone confirm whether i could still fit it and just bend the flex or something?

Thanks a million!

Well i might aswell try to see if it fits, if not i buy another one, it was more to see if it has the same connections or if anyone else had tried it before

@Chris Maltman Since you got nothing to lose why not try, I can confirm the connector is the same and if you like origami you might be able to figure how to fold it to fit it nicely ;)

So the flex for iphone 6 plus arrived, i carefully connected the flex to the metal shield plate and connected everything up. However the male connector of the flex (that plugs into the login board) wont seat properly (keeps popping out) and on further inspection it would seem that the connectors on the 6 plus flex (to logic board) are somewhat different from the 6 (to the logic board) connectors. i did briefly have the flex connected to the logic board and tthe home buttton worked (however touch id did NOT, could this be the issue?) and it was only a matter of time before it popped out again. so in summary the 6s flex will NOT (or at the very least, TRY) connect to the logic board,

New cable on order, i just hope the touch id will work! Im panicking!

The iP 6 is 4.7”, the iP6+ is 5.5”..it’s quite hard you can find a way to fold about 2cm excess cable without messing up with it. Considering the cost of it I’d suggest to buy the proper one.

so I have an iPhone 6 Plus and I did work on a iPhone 6 and I can confirm the cable for the home button is to long and I recommend just returning the wrong cable you got and getting the right cable for your device
