Mce8000ayw dryer turns off when you hit start

This dryer has a bottom drum and an upper cabinet, each with its own set of control buttons on a single console. Today when I tried to use it, all the buttons for the settings appear to work fine for both sides, but pressing either start button turns that side off…

all the lights go dark (and the dryer doesn’t start). Does this help diagnose if my problem the the panel/console or the main relay/control board? I can find replacement relay on ebay, but the console panel is discontinued and I can’t find one anywhere.
