My iPad keeps powering off after having to change the cracked screen.

iPad 6thgeneration keeps turning off after having the screen replaced when I dropped it and the screen cracked. It works intermittently. Someone mentioned it may be a problem with the digitizer. Can this be fixed?

Are you using a flip cover that automatically locks / switches off the screen when the screen is covered?

If yes it's most likely going to be a damaged home button cable causing the problem as there is a sensor on there to sense the magnet in the smart cover.

Yes, it worked fine before having the screen replaced, so I guess I’ll bring it back to the tech again. He changed the screen twice so far.

Faulty screens can cause weird issues. The lcd and digitizer are one piece. If the circuitry is bad in the screen processor chips(on the flex cable),it can cause weird problems. They could’ve knocked off a component as well on the board. This happens a lot.

Always disconnect the battery prior to repair. Be careful with the tiny components.

Did it work while the screen was cracked? Could you use it regularly otherwise,or did it have the same issue(if you could even test it)?

if it worked despite being dropped, this could be a bad part,or the technician’s fault.

If you did did the replacement, did you follow the above procedures?
