Phone restarting after charging port replacement

I’ve seen similar questions, but no definitive answers on them. I received an iPhone X that worked all except car play after having a drop of coffee spilled in the charging port. I couldn’t find any solution to this software wise, so I replaced the charging port.

I gave the phone back and now the phone seems to keep restarting after a minute or two. I tried all the possible software fixes and they didn’t work, I also looked at the board and it still has all the black covering on it so I couldn’t see any issues with it.

I’m hoping someone has any experience with this as at this point I’m stumped. Is it maybe possible I got a part charging port and that’s what’s affecting it? Should I strip off the black covering on the board and look deeper? I’m looking for anyone’s insight who may have been in a similar boat, or at least have a better idea than myself. Thank you.

Also I’m not sure if it will help but it’s a model A1685 and had no prior repairs done to it. I can also provide pictures if needed.

Solución Elegida

I'd just like to let anyone who sees this know that I was able to fix it. I got lucky this time and it was just a bad charging port replacement. I bought a new one (three actually just to be certain) and the first one I tried worked like a charm. However that doesn't mean that Minho's advice isn't good. Good luck everyone.

Can you please put a link for the charging port that worked?

A defective replacement charge port is always possible. But the fact that it had coffee in the charge port is the smoking gun. There is clearly some water damage on the logic board. Ideally, you need to remove all the shields and closely inspect the board, clean any corrosion with >90% IPA (preferably an ultrasonic wash in EC) and then troubleshoot the corroded areas.
