LCD Screen Refurbishing Problem #1
I just got into refurbishing screens a month ago. After seperating my 6s glass from the lcd I tested the lcd by connecting and it functioned well. I was having trouble finding an OCA remover so I began reading threads and heard WD40 and goof off worked well. I used a bit of WD40 and goof off ( separately a different intervals) but was worried it was too strong so I was careful with how much I used. After the OCA came off and lcd was clean, I plugged in the screen and there is now what appears to be some wavy ridges when the apple sign pops up towards the top and sides of the screen . Why could that be? Did I apply too much pressure? Did what I used get into the back light or mess up the lcd itself? Is it because I need to remove and put in a new polarizer? I noticed these ridges or wave like things are only visible through white light( first picture) other then that the lcd quality is perfect when displaying colors (2nd and 3rd pictures). I personally don’t mind them but a customer might. I’ve since bought 8333 OCA remover and was gonna use but I wanted to ask the forum before I tried removing OCA again and potentially ruin another good lcd.
thanks!
