Rear lens camera cracked, camera has smudges

Sorry for the bad pictures but my phone camera lens have been broken for about a year and after not being able to find a place that would actually attempt to fix it, I’m considering trying to fix it myself, but I don’t know how to go about doing it. I’ve seen a video on replacing the glass cover but even if i did that i think the smudges would still be there, so I’d have to clean the camera and that would be difficult. Would it be easier to replace the entire back seeing that i might have to open up the phone anyways in order to clean the camera, or is the camera itself beyond cleaning/repair? Would appreciate the help.

No need to replace the housing but from the looks of the picture you might have dirt inside the camera and there’s no way to fix that. The replacement glass will probably come mounted on a metal ring..warm it up a bit with a moderate heat source and push it out, do the same with the iPhone camera glass and replace it, it takes very little work after you remove the camera. If dirt is still there replace the camera too. Here’s a guide for reference to help you with the task:

Thanks for the help, now I at least know how to fix the glass, but are you sure there's no way to remove the dirt? Over time the smudge tends to move around and can get bigger or smaller, or sometimes there's more than one, which makes me think that if it can move around on the surface then surely it can be removed? What if i used a can of compressed air to blow the dirt off, would that work?

Clean it gently with a cotton bud prior to fitting the camera lens however it looks like the camera is damaged and will need to be replaced with that black patch u have on the left side of the photo... u can replace the lens first and if u decide to do so later on u can replace the camera itself their not too difficult and their usually not too expensive

@codyh02 The black dot seems to be inside from your description too as it moves about when the camera lenses adjust focus. I believe it needs to be just replaced but you'll make sure only when you remove it.
